Description

How many uses can I find for this pic? I think this is the last one :o

This was inspired by a stamp I saw supporting the contrary, so I wanted to make one that shows my POV. Girl Power. I swear I am not a feminist :XD: Anyone who reads the mushy romance I write can attest to that

If you support this idea, great! If not, do not flame me. I do not flame people on the other side of this debate, so please show me the same respect. Thank you ^^

Feel free to use this in your journals! If ya want...

This is old and a tired topic, I apologize, but I'm not sure I understand what backwards ass logic is going on here.

Apparently Zelda can only be empowered when dressed/presenting as a man and this is 'girl power'?? Is that seriously what I'm looking at? I mean sure you can argue that Zelda can do what a man can do! Wow!

But uh... Sheik... doesn't actually do much? Zelda actually does more as herself than as Sheik and if we're going with the idea that Sheik was just Zelda crossdressing the entire time then there's seriously no need to make a distinction between the two. You're literally saying because in one instance she's dressed in spandex and in another she's in a dress, she's somehow a stronger character in the former?? The role of Sheik is a cover to HIDE and wait for the chance for Zelda to take action as herself, and occasionally provide help whenever the opportunity arises (most of Sheik's help is a matter of convenience anyway, aside from the two mandatory warp songs.) It's not some statement about flaunting your femininity everywhere and kicking ass as some sort of 'ninja princess warrior.' I shouldn't have to say this but it's a male disguise no matter how you slice it.

BTW I'm not attacking your viewing Sheik as a girl. That's fine. But pretty much every time I see this 'girl power' being justified it's by completely undermining/disregarding Zelda as herself because again, she can only be cool while presenting as a man, apparently, and is entirely useless otherwise.

If anything, this entire 'girl power' BS I see surrounding Sheik reeks entirely of sexism, ironically enough. So I guess I'm just a little bemused by that.

Yeah done bye, that's all I had to say
